German A Level Transition Work

Congratulations on choosing to continue with your German studies. The German team look forward to welcoming you.

You deserve to have some time off after your GCSEs. However, in order to prepare for September it would be very helpful if throughout the summer you could keep a diary in German. Practice writing about your holidays and activities aiming to include new vocabulary and structures. A good online dictionary to help you is www.wordreference.com (app available).

Please also work through the grammar sections on the German Revision Guide 9-1 (pg. 85-108) answer on pg. 132-133. The book can be accessed on SharePoint or bought for £5.99 on Amazon.

We also recommend reading around the subject. This can be done using search engines to find something that you are interested in. www.google.de is a good place to start. Also, www.spiegel.de (online magazines) and www.sn.at (online newspaper) are useful.

For the start of term in September, you will need to have purchased a copy of Edexcel A level German
