Charity Week 2014

On Monday 10th November, charity week started!  Each house (Beal, Jackson, Robertson, and Wilkinson) got their own lunch time, with a theme, to set up stalls in the old hall and Burton Hall. To raise money for children in need, pupils needed to create items to sell, this ranged from: cakes, loom bands, popcorn, sweets, candyfloss, chocolate, and many more! Some students also decided to create competitions. For instance: guess how many sweets are in the jar, tombola, drawing competitions and quizzes.

The themes were: Festival, Disney, Jungle and Pirates! Each house dressed up with something to do with their theme. By doing this, they received more buys, attention and house points! Every house is extremely competitive when it comes to house points therefore there were some very creative and talented costumes such as: animal onesies for the Jungle, full mini mouse outfits for Disney, brightly coloured face paints for Festival and pirate costumes for the Pirates.

On the Friday of which charity week was ending, every pupil had the opportunity to dress up as a superhero that was linked with the children in need theme 2014.   Everyone wore their choice of costume to whom they think is a superhero!

Altogether, Torquay Girls Grammar School raised £2354 which was an incredible amount.  Well done to everyone who participated in the events!
