RSC Top of the Bench Competition

Congratulations to our team of four intrepid chemists who took on teams from eight other school and came home in an excellent equal second place.  

The competition was organised on behalf of the royal Society of Chemistry by Dr Nicky King; senior lecturer in Chemistry at Exeter University department of Biochemical sciences.  

Teams consisted of fours students; one from Year 11, one from Year 10 and two from Year 9.  They had to participate in two challenging practical activities; one, a series of titrations and the other an analytical excercise to identify different ions.  Finally, they participated in a multiple choice test on general chemistry.  Well done to all four for their excellent work!
