World War Two Day

Just before Easter we held our annual World War Two Day.

On this popular day students have the opportunity to take part in activities that help them understand some of the aspects of life during the Second World War.  Digging for victory, cooking with an eye on the ration book, learning to jitterbug and jive and acting out a night under the blitz.

And of course, perhaps most important of all, we invite in a group of veterans who grew up and lived through the wartime years, who share with us some of their memories; both good and bad; of this difficult time in our history.

We thank them for their kindness in coming in, and also thank the History Department for putting on this excellent event.
