Climate Change Lecture

The Old Hall at TGGS was completely filled yesterday for the second South Devon Geographical Association guest lecture by the eminent climatologist, Professor Peter Cox.

Professor Peter Cox, Professor of Climate System Dynamics in the Department of Mathematics and Computing at the University of Exeter, gave an outstanding presentation on the current state of the problem of climate change.

His lecture included references to the theories of the past, reminding us that far from being a new phenomena, climate change was predicted by scientists in the nineteenth century.  He considered current evidence for the changes, and gave us his thoughts on some of the possible strategies for dealing with the problem in the future.

Our sincere thanks to Professor Cox for taking the time to come and speak to us on this hugely important topic, and to Mrs Davison for organising this excellent event on behalf of the South Devon Geographical Society.

hello

Dr Fyfe, Head of Geography at TBGS, Professor Cox and Mrs Davison, Head of Geography at TGGS.
