TGGS Student Notices

Monday 21st January

All Year 7 – 11 Students

Calling all budding writers!  The English Department presents TGGS 500 words competition.  An opportunity to showcase your talent and win house points and prizes.  It will launch on 14th January and end on the 8th February.  The competition is open to all years.  Print off your story with your name and form and hand this into the English office.  We welcome any genres and style, but please base your work around ‘A Twist in the Tale’.  Good luck and have fun!

There is no access to the Art Dept for Yr 7-9 at lunchtime until further notice but at least until Easter. This is to allow  Yr10-13 students to use the dept and its facilities exclusively to prepare for their exams. Sorry for the inconvenience this will cause but your Art teacher will now allow you, where needed, to take sketchbooks home to continue with classwork or complete homework tasks.

Congratulations to Beal for winning the interim judging stage of the 2019 House Board Award.

Their board was judged the best (by a panel of 5 Governors) based on design, content and execution of the board and the cabinet. Beal have been awarded 500 points for 1st place, Wilkinson 400 points for 2nd, Jackson 300 points for 3rd, Robertson 200 points for 4th and Cross 100 points for 5th place.

A further 500 points are up for grabs for maintenance of the board and cabinet over the course of the year. Final judging will take place in July. Well done to the heads of houses who have really raised the bar this year and set a new standard.
