South West Region Geological Society competition

 

Six schools entered this year's competition and our KS3 team won with their fantastic poster!  Each competitor won a voucher worth fifty pounds.

Our KS5 team were neck-and-neck up against last year's winners and just lost out on the quiz.
They beat them on the presentation and poster, but didn't have enough geological knowledge (despite the cramming by Mr Neighbour in the minibus!) and were at a disadvantage as the winning team were Year 13 A-level Geologists and last year's winners!
However, they did gain thirty-two marks in the quiz, compared to the winners who gained forty-seven, so very impressive for our girls.
They were runners up and each was given a voucher worth twenty-two pounds.

The girls had a huge amount of fun, and the Year 12 team's presentation showed great poise and confidence, even if they were quaking underneath!
