TGGS celebrates 20th Anniversary of Operation Imprezza

We have had an amazing week with Catherine, MP and Headteacher, from our partner school in Kenya.  Catherine spent three days talking to our students and giving assemblies on life at the school.  A huge thank you to Karen Bumby for organising the 20 year’s celebration event for Operation Imprezza on Monday 23 January. 

The evening was attended by students, parents, members of the community and Trustees of the Operation Imprezza charity.  Following speeches, including a very inspirational and emotional speech from Catherine, the cake was cut and enjoyed by all. Catherine shared her thank you to the school for 20 years of support via fundraising which has supported the education of over 2000 students through the doors of the academy since it opened.

The journey began when one of our students Sarah visited Kenya and met Catherine and came back to school beating the drum to gain support!

On the night, following their inspirational experiences with Catherine during the last week, the next generation of students (who had also brought their parents along) were inspired to take the baton and lead initiatives within the school to continue to support this amazing charity.

Well done to all our staff and students that have supported our work with Imprezza over the last 20 years and thank you in advance to all those staff who spend time listening to our current ‘history makers’ and helping them develop their ideas into action.
